The Austin College STAR Leadership Program in the sciences has been awarded a $299,999 grant from the National Science Foundation for the project, “Developing Science Leaders Through Applied Learning Experiences and Reflection.” The purpose of the project is to support undergraduate research teams, comprised of faculty and students. Coe College has received a $50,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the development of a collaborative foreign language partnership with Cornell College. Over the next two years, the planning grant will provide resources for both colleges to collaborate with community partners and provide opportunities for students to apply what they have learned in the world language classroom. A group of students went back to school for a short time this summer but instead of continuing classes at Buena Vista University, they received an entirely different learning experience as they immersed themselves into a small community located in Southwest Ireland.  More.

Waynesburg University has been named to MONEY Magazine’s 2017-2018 “Best Colleges For Your Money” list, ranking in the top 7 percent of all colleges and universities considered nationwide. Out of the 2,400 colleges considered, 711 met the minimum requirements to be included in the ranking and Waynesburg ranked No. 170. The Austin College Board of Trustees has named Dr. Michael Imhoff to serve as interim president of the College as of July 1. Imhoff served Austin College as vice president for Academic Affairs from 2000 until his retirement in 2013. More.
