JCSU’s Impact Camp puts spotlight on Charlotte youth crime prevention amid teen takeover concerns
On the campus of Johnson C. Smith University, more than 350 boys ages 8 to 13 aparticipated in the 11th annual Impact Camp, a free weeklong summer camp organized by the Meck Investment Company. Along with basketball and other activities, campers receive lessons in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and higher education. But this year, organizers are also placing a special emphasis on youth crime prevention and addressing the teen takeovers that have drawn attention across Charlotte in recent months. Read more.
