Johnson C. Smith University Receives Largest Government Grant in the Institution’s History

The U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) recently awarded Johnson C. Smith University $5.7 million for campus technology upgrades and broadband 5G deployment. John Norris, JCSU’s chief information officer, said the funds will be used to upgrade aged access layer and core layer switches and will allow JCSU to update digital capabilities to improve classroom instruction and meet the needs of students, faculty, staff and community members.
