The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center’s Time to Degree Report:
This report draws on national student-level enrollment and completion data to examine time to degree among first-time undergraduate award earners, including certificate, associate degree, and bachelor’s degree recipients, as well as bachelor’s degree earners who previously earned another undergraduate award. The report valuates both elapsed time from first enrollment to completion and active enrollment time, providing a more detailed view of students’ educational journeys. Examining both measures makes it possible to distinguish the total time required to earn a credential from the time students spend actively enrolled pursuing that credential. The report also examines how time to degree varies across student groups and educational experiences such as dual enrollment, transfer, stopout, attendance at multiple institutions, and prior award attainment.
